Quick setup
- Open AudioFlip. Its speaker icon appears in the macOS menu bar.
- Open Settings → Devices and mark the outputs and inputs you use as favorites.
- Use ⌥ S to cycle through favorite outputs and ⌥ M for favorite inputs.
- Open Settings → Hotkeys to change the global shortcuts or assign a shortcut directly to a specific device.
If you select no favorites, the cycling shortcut moves through all available devices in that direction.
Common fixes
Confirm that macOS lists it under System Settings → Sound. Reconnect USB devices or reconnect Bluetooth devices, then reopen the AudioFlip menu.
Make sure AudioFlip is running and choose a combination that is not already used by macOS or another app. Save the new shortcut and try again.
Try selecting it once from the AudioFlip menu. If macOS rejects the switch, disconnect and reconnect the device, then retry.
Wait until macOS shows the device as connected before switching. AudioFlip can select devices that macOS exposes; it does not control Bluetooth pairing.
Updates
The Mac App Store edition receives updates through the App Store. If you bought AudioFlip directly, use the direct edition’s built-in update check. The two editions are not intended to run side by side.
